Starting with exercising, things you need to know

It's great that you want to get started with your vitality, but getting started can be tough. The simple tips in this article will help you with this.

Start with why?

Every person is different and so is the motivation to exercise. It is important to find out for yourself what your motivation is. Would you like to be able to play football with your grandchildren, feel more confident during your next beach holiday, find peace in a hectic life or take steps towards a healthier body. Sometimes you can set specific goals with your 'why', but often you will see that a long-term approach is much more valuable.

Don't be intimidated by the fit people in the club. They have often been working on their physique for years and know all too well what it is like to start. You will see that many of the gym rats and fit girls often welcome new members with open arms and are happy to tell you about the unwritten rules, share useful tips and show you the way with the different machines or exercises.

Long-term

Your body should last a lifetime, so don't try to make up for a few years of little exercise in a single session. Start slow and build up slowly. You train together with a coach or group instructor? Let them know you're just starting out and listen carefully to the instructions.

If you exercise alone, use a beginner's schedule. Listen carefully to your body during the exercise and the days after. Even if you build up slowly, you will soon notice that your body changes.
